Last week, I was brought along on a field trip for a summer class at Georgetown Visitation. The class was about DC History, and the field trip focused on some highlights of the National Mall.

Chronicling the trip was some great practice for me, and it was nice to get out into the city to take pictures.

With these images, I had a few goals in mind going into the shoot. I wanted to ground the students in the city, juxtapose them amongst images that you’d immediately recognize the location. Additionally, I wanted to get some more general coverage of the students doing “student-esque” things; i.e. listening, laughing, being focused, etc. Those are images that serve more evergreen purposes, shots that can be used in tons of different promotional materials without the immediate context of the image being necessary.
